Cristian Chivu Discusses Future and Contract Extension with Inter Milan

Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu held discussions with Nerazzurri directors this morning concerning future strategies and a potential contract extension until 2029.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the meeting took place at the club headquarters and included President Beppe Marotta, directors Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin, as well as representatives from Oaktree Capital Partners.

The club is reportedly looking to offer Chivu a two-year contract extension. His current deal concludes in June 2027, but Inter has prepared a new agreement through 2029, which includes a significant salary increase.

Discussions also covered future plans for key players, specifically Alessandro Bastoni, who is reportedly a target for Barcelona. Potential new signings to bolster the squad for the 2026-27 season were also on the agenda.

Chivu has just completed his debut full Serie A season, securing both the Scudetto and Coppa Italia titles. A former Inter defender and Romania international, he previously coached Inter’s Primavera team and was part of the treble-winning squad in 2010 under José Mourinho.
