CDA National Reserve is redefining the concept of private club communities. Unlike typical real estate developments that emphasize lifestyle and fitness superficially, this 1,000-acre expanse in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, offers a genuinely integrated sporting and wellness experience. Featuring a distinguished Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course set amidst towering Western Hemlock trees, it provides a compelling alternative to conventional club offerings.
Members at CDA National Reserve gain exclusive access to cutting-edge longevity and performance programs. These include advanced therapies such as IV therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and stem-cell banking, alongside personalized optimization plans. This comprehensive approach is facilitated through a Premier Longevity Membership in partnership with Clinic 5C, an organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of health issues and restoring the body’s systemic balance.
This commitment to holistic well-being is further enhanced by a performance-focused culinary program, regenerative wellness amenities like infrared saunas and cold plunge pools, and a diverse array of seasonal activities.
The Clubhouse
With over 70 percent of memberships already secured, CDA National Reserve Chief Operating Officer John Cochrane observes a significant evolution in the mountain club category. He notes that these clubs are transforming into holistic ecosystems centered around golf, longevity, and a lifestyle of adventure. The 20,000-square-foot clubhouse exemplifies this philosophy, offering a food and beverage program that prioritizes anti-inflammatory, longevity-focused nutrition by eliminating seed oils. The Reserve Lodge provides access to 5,500 acres of wilderness for activities like sporting clays, archery, and axe throwing, even featuring a Kid’s Survival Camp led by a former Navy SEAL. Additionally, the Lakehouse offers a floating waterpark, kayaking, wake surfing, and private StanCraft cruises.
John Cochrane highlighted the vision of Frank Suryan, CEO of New Edge Living and owner of CDA National Reserve, as the driving force behind this transformation. Suryan’s decision to create a fully integrated sporting and wellness destination was deeply rooted in the location and its inherent purpose.
Cochrane emphasized that Suryan’s vision extends beyond mere development. It encompasses a commitment to stewardship and legacy, aiming to build a destination that will bring pride to his family for generations. This is complemented by the family’s profound dedication to wellness, a lifelong pursuit.
“By combining world-class sport, nature, and holistic well-being, CDA National Reserve reflects a philosophy that prioritizes health, connection, and enduring value. The property offers a rare opportunity to create something that truly harmonizes with its surroundings,” Cochrane stated.
Reserve Lodge
Indeed, the lifestyle at CDA National Reserve is defined by nature, freedom, and the leisurely pace of long summer days, which can extend up to 16 hours of daylight.
“It’s not uncommon for members to start with a morning round of golf, then seamlessly transition to an afternoon on the lake or an evening exploring scenic trails,” Cochrane shared.
The Tom Weiskopf-designed course, stretching 7,295 yards with a par of 72, showcases Weiskopf’s expertise in utilizing the Western landscape. Built on ancient glacial formations, the course navigates a remarkable terrain, with each hole offering a distinct and memorable vista, from dense pine forests to sweeping mountain panoramas.
Lake Coeur d’Alene plays a role on several holes, most notably the lengthy par-3 15th, which features two greens. One plays as long as 233 yards, while the other measures 199 yards. Both greens are situated downhill from the tee, meaning the actual playing distance can be shorter than indicated on the scorecard.
The subsequent 16th hole is a signature Weiskopf design: a driveable par 4 measuring 335 yards from the farthest tees. However, it is guarded by bunkers on either side of the green, challenging even the longest hitters.
“The course reflects a deep understanding of how the game should be played,” Cochrane explained. “Members are free to play on their own terms, without the constraints and frustrations often associated with high-end clubs. It’s a rare and highly valued experience where world-class golf meets complete flexibility, allowing members to fully enjoy the course as it was intended.”
