American world No. 3 Coco Gauff took to social media following her defeat in the final of the WTA 1000 Rome tournament. She was beaten by Italy`s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
“Thanks, Rome. Will be back stronger,” Gauff wrote on her social media account.
This marks the second consecutive final loss for the young American player. In her previous tournament, she was defeated by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the final of the WTA 1000 event in Madrid.
