Two-Phase Wing: Was a Calculation Error Mistaken for a Malfunction?

Following the Chinese Grand Prix, a peculiar behavior of the Mercedes’ movable front wing came to light. The closing of the flap appeared noticeably slowed, evidently exceeding 400 milliseconds. While this wasn’t evident on every corner, it consistently occurred on both cars during braking for the hairpin. Interestingly, race stewards did not detect this issue.
