Thuram Ends Long France Drought After 17 Games

Marcus Thuram has finally ended his prolonged goalless streak for the French national team, scoring his first goal for Les Bleus since November 2023. This long-awaited strike could be a crucial turning point for the forward, who has faced difficulties both with his club, Inter, and on the international stage.

The goal came after 17 consecutive goalless matches for the national team, effectively bringing his scoring drought to an end this evening.

Thuram found the net by scoring the second goal against Colombia in a friendly match, part of France’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the USA.

Recently, Thuram has also struggled with goalscoring at Inter: since September 2025, he has scored only one goal in the Champions League (against Ajax), and in Serie A, he has managed just one goal since January 11, failing to find the target in 14 of his last 15 club appearances.
