Taylor Fritz “Impressed by Level” After Dominant Madrid Masters Win

American Taylor Fritz, ranked world No. 4, has advanced to the third round of the Madrid Masters tournament. He secured his spot by defeating Australia`s Christopher O`Connell in the second round with a confident score of 6/1, 6/4.

Following his victory, Fritz shared his thoughts on his performance and preparation:

“It feels good to be back and play a really good match. I didn`t want to jinx it before the match, but I told my coach I was really impressed with the level I`ve been training at over the past couple of days. I`m very happy that I was able to show that level despite the short preparation time,” Fritz was quoted as saying by the ATP press service.

The defending champion of the Madrid event is Russian player Andrey Rublev. The current edition of the tournament in the Spanish capital is taking place from April 23 to May 4.
