World No. 8 Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas has commented on the players` letter demanding an increase in prize money at Grand Slam tournaments.
“Players need to unite and stand together on this issue. Sometimes I feel that tennis strongly separates us from each other, but this is a matter of uniting everyone and striving for fairness for us.”
“I don`t have a specific figure in mind, but I will tell you one thing: it is currently nowhere near what it should be. It is absolutely obvious, and I am surprised that it has not changed yet. I really hope that we all can push them (the Grand Slams) to try to make the figure as fair as possible, because it shouldn`t be like this,” said Tsitsipas.
