British tennis talent Jack Draper will have to wait longer to begin his clay-court campaign, as he has officially withdrawn from the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters. This decision delays his much-anticipated transition to the red dirt.

Draper, whose promising career has frequently been hampered by injuries, particularly over the last nine months, continues to prioritize his physical well-being despite making steady strides in his recovery. His absence from the first Masters 1000 event of the clay swing highlights an ongoing cautious approach.

A Season of Mixed Fortunes and Careful Management

The year 2025 had started as Draper's strongest season to date, marked by multiple Masters finals appearances and a significant title win at Indian Wells, propelling him into the ATP's top five. However, his momentum was disrupted during the grass-court swing when an arm injury forced an early end to his season in New York.

While the initial hope was that an extended break would allow a full recovery for 2026, the plan faced early hurdles, including a withdrawal from the Australian Open. Draper eventually returned for the Davis Cup qualifiers and later competed in the "Sunshine Double."

Draper is now adopting an extremely cautious stance.
