Former world number three David Ferrer has been re-elected as the captain of the Spanish Davis Cup team. His tenure in the role has been extended until 2027.
Miguel Díaz, president of the Spanish Tennis Federation, stated that the decision for Ferrer to continue was “absolutely obvious” to the federation`s leadership. He highlighted that few individuals embody the spirit of the legendary Davis Cup tournament as effectively as Ferrer. Furthermore, as a recent professional player himself, Ferrer possesses an unparalleled understanding of the competitive tennis circuit.
Ferrer originally took up the position of captain for the Spanish national team at the end of 2023.
