В числе участниц турнира — российские теннисистки Анна Калинская и Анастасия Потапова.
Анна Калинская начнёт свой путь на турнире матчем против победительницы квалификации. В случае успешного преодоления первого раунда, её следующей соперницей станет Магда Линетт из Польши.
Анастасия Потапова в первом круге встретится с Викторией Мбоко из Канады. Во втором раунде российская теннисистка потенциально может сыграть с Еленой Рыбакиной из Казахстана.
Также стало известно, что 45-летняя американка Винус Уильямс, вернувшаяся на корт, проведёт свой первый матч против соотечественницы Пейтон Стёрнс.
WTA 500 Washington Draw: Kalinskaya and Potapova`s First Opponents Revealed
The organizers of the WTA 500 tournament in Washington have released the main draw for the competition. The event is scheduled to take place on hard courts from July 21 to 27.
Among the participants are Russian tennis players Anna Kalinskaya and Anastasia Potapova.
Anna Kalinskaya will begin her tournament journey with a match against a qualifier. Should she successfully advance past the first round, her next opponent will be Magda Linette from Poland.
Anastasia Potapova will face Victoria Mboko from Canada in the first round. In the second round, the Russian player could potentially play against Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.
It has also been announced that 45-year-old American Venus Williams, making a return to the court, will play her opening match against fellow American Peyton Stearns.
