Serious Knee Injury Sidelines Milan Target Joaquin Panichelli for 5-6 Months

Milan’s aspirations for RC Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli have been significantly delayed after he sustained a severe knee injury, which is expected to keep him off the field for five to six months. Panichelli’s agent had previously confirmed AC Milan’s keen interest in the player, but all potential transfer discussions have now been halted following this unfortunate incident.

The promising forward suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during a training session while on international duty with the Argentina national team. This considerable setback means Panichelli, who currently stands as Ligue 1’s top scorer with an impressive 16 goals, will miss a crucial period in his burgeoning career. He was also anticipated to represent Argentina at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by Canada, the USA, and Mexico.

According to his agent, Martin Gastadisegno, who confirmed the details in October, Milan had been “following him for some time” and were exploring possibilities for a summer move. However, with the uncertainty surrounding his recovery timeline from such a serious injury, Milan will now be compelled to explore alternative options in their search for a centre-forward. The Italian club has been actively seeking to bolster its attacking line, particularly after Santiago Gimenez was sidelined for several months due following surgery.
