Italian football powerhouses Inter, Juventus, AC Milan, and Serie B side Palermo are reportedly set to embark on an Australian pre-season tour in August. This exciting series of three high-profile friendlies will feature the legendary Derby della Madonnina and Derby d’Italia, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
While official confirmation is anticipated in the coming days, Gazzetta has already revealed the proposed schedule for these highly anticipated matches.
The tour kicks off with the iconic Milan Derby between Inter and AC Milan, scheduled for August 5 at Optus Stadium in Perth. Three days later, on August 8, Juventus will clash with Inter at the same Perth venue. AC Milan will then depart for other pre-season commitments, meaning they will not face Juventus during this Australian leg.

The Australian tour will conclude on August 11 with Juventus taking on Palermo, a club managed by Italy legend Filippo Inzaghi. Notably, Palermo, known as the Rosanero, is part of the City Group, which also owns Australia’s Melbourne City, potentially fostering stronger ties between Italian and Australian football.
This upcoming tour follows previous unsuccessful attempts to bring Italian football to Australia, specifically a Serie A match between Milan and Como in Perth last February. Despite that setback, Australian fans will finally get to experience top-tier Italian club action with these marquee pre-season friendlies this August.
