Roger Federer Congratulates Alexander Ovechkin on NHL Goal Record

Former world number one tennis player, Swiss Roger Federer, congratulated Alexander Ovechkin, the Russian captain of the Washington Capitals hockey club. On April 6th, Ovechkin set a new record for the most goals in NHL regular season championships.

In a regular season game against the New York Islanders, the forward scored his 894th career goal, surpassing the record of legendary forward Wayne Gretzky.

`I am incredibly happy for you. I hope you hold this record forever,` Federer said in a video message.
