Rain Halts Samsonova’s Hertogenbosch Opener

The first-round match at the WTA 250 tournament in Hertogenbosch between Russia`s Liudmila Samsonova and Canada`s Carson Branstine was suspended with the score standing at 4/6, 7/5.

The players competed on court for 1 hour and 40 minutes before the match was stopped. Play is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, June 11th, not before 13:30 Moscow time.

Several other matches were also affected by the weather, including those featuring Roberto Bautista Agut against Hubert Hurkacz, and Anouk Koevermans against Maria Sakkari, which were cancelled [for the day]. Throughout the playing day, matches were repeatedly interrupted due to persistent rain.

The tournament in Hertogenbosch is taking place from June 9th to 15th. Liudmila Samsonova is the defending champion of the event.
