The second season for PGA Tour 2K25 has officially begun, introducing updates that developer HB Studios and publisher 2K Games anticipate will delight virtual golf enthusiasts.
The centerpiece of this new season is the `Challenges` mode. This innovative mode combines complex golf scenarios with elements reminiscent of RPGs. Players are presented with a map allowing them to forge their own path, taking on various challenges to earn rewards. While maintaining a foundation in realistic golf mechanics, some missions include more arcade-like twists to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.
In these scenarios, players must successfully meet specific conditions. Unique modifiers may be active, either aiding or impeding their task. An example given is players potentially needing to guide their shots through a series of floating rings.
Future scenarios are planned to draw inspiration from historical golf moments, offering players the chance to replicate some of the sport`s most memorable shots. HB Studios has stated this mode will receive expansions and refreshes with each new season. Additionally, a completely new course designed specifically for the Challenges mode, developed in collaboration with Charles Schwab, is slated for release in the coming weeks.
Beyond the Challenges mode, Season 2 also adds the renowned Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25. Players can also look forward to unlocking a wide range of new rewards, including various upgrades, enhancements, and gear. Among the new features is an additional shot type called the `Long Flop`. This shot provides more power than a standard Flop Shot while retaining its characteristic high trajectory, high spin, and minimal roll. It serves as an excellent option for course correction when a previous shot didn`t quite reach the target.
