Spanish world No. 9 Paula Badosa shared the advice she would give her younger self.
“To little Paula,” she said, “I would tell her: `See everything as a game, because one day it will stop being one.` I`ve thought about this a lot. How did I spend my childhood? I was tough on myself, but I don`t regret it. And now I`ve finally realized that you need to accept difficulties calmly.”
The 27-year-old Badosa is a former world No. 2 and winner of four WTA singles titles. She recently suffered a back injury in the third round of the Miami Open against Clara Tauson, which she won 6/3, 7/6(3), but subsequently withdrew from her next match against Alexandra Eala.
