Patrick Mouratoglou Reveals How His Lie Helped Serena Williams Win Wimbledon

Naomi Osaka`s coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, shared an interesting anecdote about how he convinced his former player, Serena Williams, that she was effective at the net.

Speaking on the Tennis Insider Club podcast, Mouratoglou recounted, “She was making errors at the net and was afraid to come forward. I told her:

`You win 80% of points at the net.`

I lied, but she believed me. After that, she actually started winning 80% of points at the net… and she won Wimbledon.”
