Turkish coach Okan Buruk, currently at the helm of Galatasaray, is reportedly being considered by top European clubs Lazio and Tottenham Hotspur as a potential managerial candidate for the upcoming season. Buruk’s contract with Galatasaray is set to expire on June 30, making him an attractive prospect for clubs in major leagues looking for a new manager.
Okan Buruk an Enticing Prospect for Lazio and Tottenham

Reports suggest that Lazio is eyeing Okan Buruk as a potential successor to Maurizio Sarri, whose strained relationship with President Claudio Lotito has become apparent. Similarly, Tottenham is also reportedly keen on Buruk for the next campaign, as current interim manager Igor Tudor is not expected to be appointed permanently.
Buruk’s past experience as an Inter Milan player from 2001 to 2004 means he is fluent in Italian, which could be an advantage for a move to Serie A.
The 52-year-old began his coaching journey in 2013 with Elazigspor, subsequently managing Gaziantepspor, Sivasspor, Goztepe, Akhisar Belediye, Rizespor, and Basaksehir before joining Galatasaray in 2022. Under his leadership at Galatasaray, he has achieved significant success, including four Turkish Super Lig titles, one Turkish Cup, and one Turkish Supercup.
