World No. 5 Novak Djokovic has etched his name deeper into the history books by reaching the semifinals of a Masters series tournament for an unprecedented 80th time. This remarkable achievement came after his commanding victory over Zizou Bergs in the quarterfinals held in Shanghai.
Adding another feather to his cap, the Serbian tennis maestro has also become the oldest semifinalist in the illustrious history of Masters events, achieving this feat at 38 years and 4 months old.
Djokovic`s consistency has been extraordinary, especially since Roland Garros 2023. During this period, he has participated in eighteen quarterfinals and suffered only one defeat, which occurred this year in Brisbane against Reilly Opelka.
Looking ahead, the four-time champion of this particular tournament is set to face Valentin Vacherot in what promises to be an exciting semifinal clash.
