Novak Djokovic on Jannik Sinner Defeat: “It’s Unpleasant to Be Humiliated on Court, But I’m Giving My Best”

Legendary Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion and currently ranked fifth in the world, shared his candid thoughts after his recent defeat to Italy`s Jannik Sinner, the world No. 2. In the semifinal match of the Six Kings Slam tournament, Djokovic was outplayed, losing with a score of 4/6, 2/6.

“My love for tennis and passion for the game are still very much alive within me. I admit, it`s quite unpleasant when you are so clearly outplayed and, in a way, humiliated on the court,” Djokovic remarked. “Nevertheless, it`s an incredible achievement to continue performing at such a high level. Remaining in the top five or top ten players in the world at my age is remarkable. I always give my all. I have the body I have, and I am profoundly grateful for every moment I`ve lived and everything life has given me. It has truly been an amazing journey, full of reasons to be joyful.”

He also added with a touch of humor, “Of course, I wouldn`t mind swapping bodies with someone younger for at least a year to try and overcome these guys. That would be great, wouldn`t it!”

Transitioning to a more serious tone, Novak emphasized, “But jokes aside, my competitive spirit still burns bright. I realize it`s getting tougher and tougher to beat Jannik and Carlos [Alcaraz] each time we play. They are phenomenal talents. But I will continue to challenge them, pushing my limits, for as long as it`s physically and mentally possible.”
