Novak Djokovic: ‘It Might Have Looked Easy, But It Was Far From It’

Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic, a record 24-time Grand Slam champion, offered his insights following his quarter-final triumph over Belgium`s Zizou Bergs (6/3, 7/5) at the Shanghai Masters.

Djokovic emphasized that while the match might have appeared straightforward, it was far from it. “It might seem like an easy match, but that`s definitely not the case. At this level, there are no easy victories. Zizou Bergs showcased excellent tennis throughout this tournament, and it would be disrespectful to label this win as simple. It was a challenging two-set victory,” the tennis ace stated.

Addressing his physical condition, Djokovic added: “My leg felt normal today. However, something is constantly happening with my body in almost every match. There are other aspects I`m trying to manage daily, and I hope the situation will improve as the tournament progresses. The day off before the semi-finals is a significant advantage. I intend to return with the right mindset and a strong desire to win.”
