The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers have arrived in Abu Dhabi for a highly anticipated preseason doubleheader, set to commence on Thursday.

This visit marks the fourth consecutive year that the NBA has hosted games in the United Arab Emirates. The contests, held at Abu Dhabi`s Etihad Arena on Yas Island, are among seven international NBA matchups scheduled for the current preseason and regular season.

Before their on-court clash, both the 76ers and the Knicks engaged in a variety of local activities, including desert excursions and rounds of golf.

Below are some highlights capturing the experiences of the teams during their 2025 Abu Dhabi visit.

Teams Arrive to a Warm Welcome in Abu Dhabi

Upon their arrival in Abu Dhabi, both the Knicks and the 76ers were met with an enthusiastic local reception, featuring traditional singing and refreshing beverages. Head coach Mike Brown of the Knicks was observed capturing the vibrant welcome on his phone, while players like Knicks guard Landry Shamet, along with Philadelphia`s Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr., experienced holding falcons.

Exploring the Majestic Abu Dhabi Desert

Following in the footsteps of previous NBA teams, such as the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves from two years prior, the Knicks embarked on a journey into the desert. Among the Knicks players, Patrick Ewing and OG Anunoby enjoyed camel rides, and Josh Hart had the opportunity to hold a falcon.

76ers Capture Iconic Moments at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The awe-inspiring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, recognized as one of the globe`s largest mosques, provided a stunning setting for a memorable Philadelphia team photograph. This architectural marvel is dedicated to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the revered founding father of the UAE.

Golfing Amidst the Abu Dhabi Landscape

Despite being thousands of miles from home, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse and guard Kyle Lowry found time to refine their golf skills on Abu Dhabi`s picturesque greens.

Knicks Engage in Creative Art Session with Young Fans

Beyond sporting stylish streetwear and impressive on-court sneakers, the New York Knicks team took the experience a step further by engaging in an artistic session. They spent time with young local fans, drawing and coloring custom sneaker designs.
