As the 2024-25 NBA season approaches its conclusion, 28 teams are already focusing their attention on the upcoming offseason period. With franchises actively preparing for both the 2025 NBA Draft and the summer`s free agency, here is a detailed overview of the league`s calendar, highlighting crucial deadlines for teams and players concerning contract options and decisions.

This offseason is set to involve approximately 30 players who are candidates for qualifying offers, which would designate them as restricted free agents. Furthermore, more than 100 players are eligible for either rookie or veteran contract extensions. This makes the coming months a critical time filled with numerous important decisions for teams across the league.

Key Dates

  • June 15: Early entry entrant withdrawal deadline (non-college players)

  • TBD (first day after the NBA Finals): Teams can begin negotiating with their own free agents

  • June 25-26: 2025 NBA Draft

  • June 29: Last day for a team or player option to be exercised; Last day for a player to receive a Qualifying Offer
