In an exciting development for the Los Angeles Lakers, Natalia Bryant, the daughter of basketball icon Kobe Bryant, embraced the role of creative director for the team`s highly anticipated preseason promotional video.
The video, aptly named “Forever Iconic: Purple and Gold Always,” showcased an impressive roster of stars. Among those featured were Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, Lakers legend Magic Johnson, and acclaimed actor Brenda Song, a well-known devotee of the team. Celebrity jacket designer Jeff Hamilton also made an appearance, lending his distinctive style to the production.
The production was filled with memorable moments designed to energize the fanbase. Highlights included Brenda Song`s playful re-enactment of a viral LeBron James meme, famously yelling, “it`s our ball, ain`t it?” Another notable scene featured Luka Doncic playfully shouting “Kobe” as he executed a stepback move to toss a towel into a trash can. The video culminated with Magic Johnson, holding the revered Larry O’Brien Trophy, declaring, “It`s Showtime, baby.” In a touching tribute to her father`s enduring legacy, Natalia also incorporated a clip of Kobe Bryant`s legendary game-winning shot against the Phoenix Suns during the 2006 NBA playoffs.
On Instagram, Natalia shared her feelings about the project, stating it was “such an honor” to be involved and concluding her message with “Lakers family forever.”
This directorial venture follows her graduation in May from the University of Southern California`s prestigious School of Cinematic Arts. Furthermore, in August, Natalia appeared alongside New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson in a Nike commercial, promoting the latest Kobe 3 Protro sneaker line.
The Los Angeles Lakers are slated to commence their regular season on October 21st, facing off against the Golden State Warriors.
