Musetti: Saving Set Points Was Key Against Zverev in Rome

World number nine Lorenzo Musetti commented on his victory over Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of the Rome Masters, where he won 7/6(1), 6/4.

He described the match as physically very draining, with many long rallies played in difficult slow conditions. Musetti noted it was his first time playing in the evening session, and the conditions were different from his earlier matches.

Regarding the turning point, Musetti said, “Of course, the four set points I saved [at 5/6 in the first set] unsettled Zverev. I did well because I held on strong, capitalized on his mistakes, kept fighting in the second set, and got the break.”
