Coach Patrick Mouratoglou shared his opinion on Novak Djokovic`s psychological strength, comparing him to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Mouratoglou recalls when Djokovic was just starting his career, and Federer and Nadal were dominating, the young Serbian declared before a Grand Slam match against Federer that he would beat him.
This statement provoked a negative reaction. Many were surprised by the self-confidence of an unknown player, believing he could not defeat Federer. When a journalist pointed out Djokovic`s self-confidence, Novak replied that he was not arrogant, but confident in his abilities. Subsequently, Djokovic repeatedly confirmed his words, becoming world number one and defeating Federer and Nadal, and ultimately showed the best results among the “Big Three”.
Mouratoglou emphasizes that psychologically Djokovic is the strongest of the “Big Three”. He has won more Grand Slam tournaments and achieved greater success than his rivals.
Mouratoglou notes that recognizing Djokovic as the best may not be liked by some fans who prefer Federer and Nadal, but at the moment his greatness is undeniable.
