The Los Angeles Lakers recently unveiled their new Statement Edition uniform designed for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season.
Returning to a familiar purple base reminiscent of their 2022-23 design, the new Statement Edition uniform features notable changes. Unlike previous versions that used gold for the team name and dark numbering, this iteration employs sharp white lettering for both the `Lakers` text and the player numbers, accented by a clean gold trim.
Adding purple and white stripes along the collar, a key update is found on the side panels. The former black accents have been replaced by panels featuring purple, gold, and white, with `Los Angeles Lakers` text subtly integrated for a radiant effect.
The phrase “Leave a Legacy” is featured above the jersey tag, and the number 17 appears on the back of the neck, commemorating the franchise`s 17 NBA championships.
For the first time on a primary uniform style, the team`s distinctive `LA` logo will be placed on both sides of the shorts, providing a balanced finishing detail.
According to a news release from the team, the Statement Edition jersey is part of a full uniform collection for the season, which includes the gold Icon Edition, white Association Edition, and the yearly City Edition designs.
