Klay Thompson`s recent trip to the Bahamas resulted in the typical social media collection of offseason vacation photos from an NBA player. However, Thompson used the opportunity differently, seemingly hinting at a romantic connection with rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Speculation about the relationship between the Dallas Mavericks guard and the Grammy-award winner started circulating after the rapper, whose birth name is Megan Pete, shared a photo on Instagram on Thursday. In the picture, as Pete posed next to a pool, fans noticed a person who appeared to be Thompson in the background.
Thompson himself seemed to address the rumors with his own Instagram post on Saturday. One image in his post showed the four-time NBA champion standing next to someone, widely presumed to be Pete, with their back to the camera. Another slide included a snapshot of him holding hands with someone, also believed to be Pete.
The post quickly went viral, attracting numerous comments. Dwight Howard responded with three fire emojis, and Thompson`s former Golden State Warriors teammate Quinn Cook commented, “There he gooooooo.” Kevin Durant simply wrote: “THAT BOY.”
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ty Jerome commented, “Woah hard launch.” Thompson replied, “I`m all gas no brakes Jerome,” seemingly confirming what is arguably the summer`s most surprising celebrity pairing.
Megan Pete was previously reported to be romantically linked with Boston Celtics forward Torrey Craig last year.
Thompson recently concluded his first season with the Dallas Mavericks, where he averaged 14 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.
