Kimi Antonelli Claims Second F1 Pole in Japan: “I Feel Good in the Car, Aim for Turn 1 Lead”

Kimi Antonelli has clinched his second Formula 1 pole position, adding a triumph in Japan to his previous success in China. The rising Italian talent bested his Mercedes teammate, Russell, in a competitive internal battle for pole at the challenging Suzuka circuit.

Antonelli had foreshadowed his strong performance during Free Practice 3, where his remarkable speed and apparent comfort with Suzuka’s demanding layout marked him as a clear favorite for qualifying. Expressing his confidence ahead of the race, Antonelli stated, “I feel good in the car; the objective is to be first into Turn 1 and maintain a strong pace.”
