Former world number one Yevgeny Kafelnikov has shared his thoughts on the initial phase of Andrey Rublev`s partnership with Marat Safin as his coach.
“Judging by the Monte Carlo tournament, things are progressing with difficulty for them, although I understand that Marat hasn`t had much time. I hope to be wrong, but so far it`s not very promising. Perhaps Andrey isn`t yet absorbing the information that Marat is trying to convey to him. Footwork, physical conditioning – I believe Andrey has a lot of flaws, both in his technical skills and physical preparation,” Kafelnikov stated.
