With the Golden State Warriors` 2025 media day now upon us, fans are eagerly anticipating another one of Jimmy Butler`s notoriously distinctive appearances, following his past history of playful antics.
In recent years, Butler has solidified his reputation as the NBA`s unchallenged master of media day trolling.
His 2023 transformation into `emo Jimmy` — complete with straightened hair, a rumored eyebrow piercing, and a dramatically sullen demeanor — sent the internet into a frenzy. This memorable stunt followed his 2022 debut of ombre faux locs, which left fans marveling at his impressive off-season hair growth.
By 2024, the central question was: What outlandish style would he unveil next? Would `Jimmy Buckets` sport a fierce mohawk or a retro mullet that would rival 80s rock legends?
However, reality proved less theatrical than the speculation. “I`m here. Normal hair. No shenanigans,” Butler declared, addressing his surprisingly conventional hairstyle. While his usual media day theatrics were on hold, Butler did hint at a potential comeback for one of his popular personas.
He clarified, “You might see [`emo Jimmy`] but you won`t see him up here for a media day.” Interestingly, he also pointed to an unexpected advocate for its return within the Warriors roster: teammate Buddy Hield.
