World No. 4 Jasmine Paolini had a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella following her victory at the WTA 1000 clay-court tournament in Rome. The tennis player and the head of the Italian Republic posed for a joint photograph with the trophy Paolini had won.
Paolini also secured the doubles title at the Rome tournament, partnering with her compatriot Sara Errani. In the final match, the Italian duo defeated Russian Veronika Kudermetova and Belgian Elise Mertens with a score of 6/4, 7/5.
Jasmine Paolini`s achievement made her the sixth female player in the Open Era and the first Italian representative since 1985 to claim both the singles and doubles titles at the Rome tournament in the same year. This marked the first occurrence of this feat in the 21st century.
