World number five, Jasmine Paolini, has entered the history books as the third oldest female tennis player to reach the final of the Rome tournament for the very first time in her career.
She secured her spot in the championship match at the age of 29 years and 123 days. In the Open Era, only Helga Niessen Masthoff (in 1971) and Li Na (in 2012) were older when they made their initial appearances in the Rome final.
