Nike has unveiled New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson as a featured personality in its latest Kobe 3 Protro advertisement. The two-time NBA All-Star appears in the commercial alongside Natalia Bryant, the eldest daughter of the late basketball legend, Kobe Bryant.
The advertisement opens with Brunson entering a New York jewelry store, expressing his interest in finding “something special.” As the store owner presents various pieces of jewelry, Brunson`s attention is captured by an all-white Kobe 3 Protro sneaker. While Natalia Bryant meticulously polishes the footwear, Brunson asks, “What`s she working on?”
Brunson attempts to take the shoe, but Bryant quickly pulls it away, delivering the memorable line, “You reach, I teach.” She then proceeds to quiz Brunson with a series of questions, evaluating his suitability for the coveted shoes. Ultimately, she declares that he “might be ready, but I’m still not convinced” before ushering him out of the store.
These sneakers mark the re-release of the iconic model that Kobe Bryant famously wore during his MVP-winning 2007-08 NBA season. According to Nike, the re-engineered design caters to the modern game while simultaneously paying homage to Kobe`s enduring legacy. This particular reintroduction represents Nike`s most extensive Kobe Protro initiative to date.
A distinctive design element of the shoes is the incorporation of new diamond shapes on both the upper and outsole, a special tribute to Natalia, whose middle name is Diamanté.
Brunson is known for his fondness for Kobe sneakers. During the 2025 NBA playoffs, he notably wore a `Hyper Turquoise` Kobe 6 player edition sneaker, a design inspired by the Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, during his career-high 61-point performance in March 2024, he was seen sporting the vibrant Kobe 6 Protro Grinch kicks.
The all-white Kobe 3 Protro is scheduled for release this Saturday, a date that would have marked Kobe Bryant`s 47th birthday.
