Italy Announce Squad for Crucial World Cup Play-off Final Against Bosnia-Herzegovina

Coach Gennaro Gattuso has finalized Italy’s squad for the decisive World Cup play-off final against Bosnia-Herzegovina. The announcement sees the return of Andrea Cambiaso, while five players from the original 28-man provisional squad have been omitted.

From the initial selection, Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini will not feature in the final squad. Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, however, makes a notable return. The other players excluded from tonight’s crucial match are Gianluca Scamacca (due to injury), Elia Caprile, Nicolò Cambiaghi, and Diego Coppola.

Gattuso is expected to maintain consistency, fielding the same starting eleven that secured a 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland in the semi-final last week. Moise Kean and Mateo Retegui are once again set to lead the attack.

The high-stakes match will take place at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica. The winner of this encounter will earn a coveted spot in the upcoming World Cup, joining Group B alongside Canada, Qatar, and Switzerland.
