Inter Milan is reportedly engaged in discussions to acquire Tarik Muharemovic, the promising defender from Sassuolo and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà indicates that the player is also attracting significant interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and RB Leipzig.
It is widely understood that the Nerazzurri are planning a substantial revamp of their defensive line for the upcoming season. Veteran players like Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are expected to move on, while key defender Alessandro Bastoni is heavily linked with a potential transfer to Barcelona.
Interestingly, Muharemovic, a Bosnian and Herzegovinian centre-back, has emerged as Inter’s primary target, according to Pedullà, who positions him as the club’s first choice for defensive reinforcements.
Muharemovic’s Performances Impress Inter Scouts
The anticipated transfer fee for Muharemovic is estimated to be around €30 million. However, a significant portion of this sum, specifically half, would be allocated to his former club, Juventus, which holds a 50 percent sell-on clause in his contract.
The 23-year-old first arrived in Italy in 2021, joining the Juventus youth academy. He subsequently made a notable impact with their Next Gen team, which led to his move to Sassuolo in 2024.
His initial sale to Sassuolo was for a modest €2 million, a figure that now appears strategic given Juventus’s foresight in securing a lucrative sell-on clause, poised to generate substantial profit from his anticipated big-money transfer this summer.

Inter faces intense competition from several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and RB Leipzig, all vying for Muharemovic’s signature.
He is considered a significantly more economical option compared to another potential target, Riccardo Calafiori, who is currently valued at a minimum of €50 million.

Beppe Marotta, known for his expertise in initiating transfer groundwork early, is reportedly already pushing hard with behind-the-scenes negotiations to secure the defender.
