World No. 2 Iga Swiatek shared her thoughts on the upcoming WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, scheduled for October 6-12. These comments followed her recent loss to Emma Navarro in the round of 16 at the Beijing tournament, with a score of 4/6, 6/4, 0/6.
Swiatek admitted that she needs to improve certain aspects of her game on the court and intends to focus on this in the coming days.
“I have never been to Wuhan before, so I don`t know what the tournament itself or its courts look like. I think it will be exciting to explore a new place. The advantage of a short tournament format is that you can quickly return to training and work, regardless of the match outcomes,” the tennis player stated.
“My goal is to give my best, work effectively in training, and approach the first match fully prepared,” Swiatek added during the press conference.
