Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek, ranked world No. 5, has successfully reached the quarterfinals of the French Open.
As the defending champion of the previous three tournaments, Swiatek has reached the milestone of 25 consecutive wins on the `Roland Garros` courts.
This achievement makes her the fifth player in the Open Era to compile such an impressive winning streak. Previously, similar results were achieved by Monica Seles (25 wins, 1990-1996), Bjorn Borg (28, 1978-1981), Chris Evert (29, 1974-1981), and Rafael Nadal (39, 2010-2015).
Furthermore, Swiatek has become the first female player in the 21st century to reach the quarterfinals or further in six consecutive appearances (since 2019) at `Roland Garros`. This is the longest such run in the 21st century. Previously, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario had a similarly long streak, reaching the quarterfinals ten consecutive times from 1991 to 2000.
