Holger Rune Crushes Karen Khachanov in Barcelona Semi-Final

World No. 13 Holger Rune of Denmark delivered a dominant performance against Russian player Karen Khachanov, ranked 27th, in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona. Rune secured a decisive victory with a score of 6-3, 6-2.

The match lasted for just 1 hour and 7 minutes. With this win, Rune extends his head-to-head record against Khachanov to 3-0.

Rune has now reached his second final of the season, mirroring his appearance at the Miami Masters final. This marks his 11th career final overall. Notably, this is Rune`s first final on clay since May 2023, when he was defeated by Daniil Medvedev at the Rome Masters.

Rune becomes only the third player in 2025 to reach ATP finals on both hard and clay courts, joining Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Muller in this achievement.

In the Barcelona final, Rune will face the winner of the match between Alcaraz and Arthur Fils.
