Hakan Calhanoglu’s Future at Inter Becomes Increasingly Unclear

The future of Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu at Inter Milan is currently hanging in the balance. Despite his contract extending until June 2027, the Nerazzurri have reportedly not initiated any discussions regarding a new deal for the key player.

This lack of progress in negotiations could lead to a significant change. If the situation remains unchanged over the next couple of months, it is widely anticipated that Calhanoglu may seek an exit from the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Adding to the uncertainty, Calhanoglu has been contending with a series of injuries recently. He was notably absent from the recent Derby della Madonnina and is also expected to miss the upcoming Serie A clash against Atalanta, sidelined by an adductor issue.

Looking ahead, Inter is reportedly considering substantial alterations to their midfield roster in the summer. For instance, Davide Frattesi has struggled to secure consistent playing time and reportedly received offers during the January transfer period. Conversely, Aleksandar Stanković has impressed while on loan at Club Brugge, and the Serie A giants are expected to activate a clause to bring the 20-year-old talent back to the club.
