German international Leon Goretzka is set to become a free agent this summer, with his contract at Bayern Munich expiring on June 30th. Indications suggest he has no plans to sign an extension with the Bavarian giants.
This situation has made the experienced midfielder one of the most attractive prospects on the transfer market, drawing significant attention from several prominent European clubs, particularly in Italy’s Serie A.
Serie A Clubs Eye Goretzka

Milan and Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to battle for his signature, and according to recent reports, Napoli has now also entered the race, closely monitoring developments. This could mark the second consecutive summer Napoli secures a high-profile veteran on a free transfer, following their acquisition of Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City last year.
Beyond Italy, other major clubs showing interest in Goretzka include Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Arsenal.
Napoli’s midfield is currently undergoing a period of transition. Midfielders Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa and Scott McTominay are both in discussions regarding new contracts, while De Bruyne has recently returned to action after a lengthy injury layoff. Additionally, Stanislav Lobotka’s contract runs until June 2027, but he reportedly has a €25 million release clause.
