French tennis player Arthur Fils has advanced to the semifinals of the Miami tournament after a hard-fought victory over American Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals. The intense match concluded with a score of 6:7 (3:4), 7:6 (7:4), 7:6 (8:6) in Fils’ favor.
The quarterfinal encounter lasted an impressive 2 hours and 49 minutes, showcasing a display of resilience from both athletes.
During the grueling contest, Fils served 10 aces and made 2 double faults. Notably, neither player managed to convert any break point opportunities, despite Paul having 6 chances and Fils none. Paul also served 6 aces without any double faults.
The 21-year-old Fils will now prepare to face Czech talent Jiří Lehečka in the upcoming semifinal round.
