World No. 11 American tennis player Emma Navarro has revealed the reason she chooses not to wear a cap or visor during her matches.
“When I was very young, I used to wear a visor, and then a cap. However, around the age of 13 or 14, I stopped wearing anything due to the noticeable tan line. My forehead would become very pale, contrasting sharply with the rest of my tanned face. I believe this was during my middle school years. I felt self-conscious about having such a distinct tan line and decided I couldn`t go on like that. Since then, I haven`t worn anything on my head during matches. In fact, I think I`ve become quite good at squinting,” Navarro shared during a press conference at the Charleston tournament.
