Elina Svitolina Concludes Season Early Due to Emotional Discomfort

Ukrainian tennis sensation Elina Svitolina has announced the premature end of her current season. This decision comes after her earlier withdrawal from the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing, which was attributed to a hip injury.

“Lately, I haven`t been feeling like myself. I`m not in the right emotional space and don`t feel ready to compete, which is why I`m ending my season here. Over the years, I`ve realized that in this sport, it`s not about money, fame, or rankings, but about being able to give your absolute all and be ready for the fight. Right now, I`m simply not at that mental and emotional level to do that.

I need time to rest, feel, breathe, and simply just be. So, I`m giving myself the space I need to heal and recover instead of forcing things. When I step back onto the court, I want to fight with everything I have and give my absolute best for the fans, for the game, and for myself.

With love, Elina”

Svitolina, who is 31 years old, is a bronze medalist from the 2020 Olympics and currently ranks as World No. 13. This year, the Ukrainian player added a WTA-250 title in Rouen, France, to her impressive career achievements.
