Done Deal: Spalletti ready to sign new Juventus contract extension until 2028

Leading Italian media outlets are widely reporting that Luciano Spalletti’s contract extension with Juventus is now a finalized agreement. The Turin giants, affectionately known as the Old Lady, are expected to formally announce the renewal of their head coach’s deal before the conclusion of the current working week.

When will Spalletti sign his Juventus contract?

According to prominent sports newspapers such as La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport, Spalletti is poised to put pen to paper on a new two-year contract, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028. The former national team coach initially joined the Bianconeri in October on a shorter-term arrangement, set to run until the end of the 2025-26 season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport indicates that Juventus will make the announcement regarding Spalletti’s contract extension ‘within the next 24 hours’. Tuttosport concurs with this timeline, expecting the official statement to be released on Friday.

Spalletti is anticipated to command an annual salary in the range of €5 million to €6 million. While some publications suggest a base salary of €5 million, others cite a figure of €6 million including potential bonuses. Reports also suggest that Spalletti will receive approximately €3 million for his contributions from October until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Tuttosport further reveals that Juventus made the decision to offer Spalletti a fresh deal following the club’s impressive 3-0 away victory against Sassuolo on January 6. It is reported that John Elkann, Exor CEO, personally spoke with the head coach on the evening after that match in Emilia Romagna. The Sassuolo game marked Juventus’s fifth win during an ongoing seven-game unbeaten streak.

Looking ahead, Juventus’s next priorities include potential contract extensions for key midfielders Weston McKennie and Manuel Locatelli. On the field, the primary objective remains securing a Champions League qualification spot for the 2026-27 season. Only after their final league standing is confirmed will Juventus be able to proceed with concrete plans for the upcoming transfer market.
