Dmitry Tursunov: Djokovic’s Monte Carlo Decision Seemed Strange

Former world No. 20 and coach Dmitry Tursunov has shared his assessment of Novak Djokovic`s defeat to Alejandro Tabilo in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters (3-6, 4-6).

“A minor sensation occurred. It seemed to me that Djokovic looked very tired. There was a feeling that Novak was half a step behind Tabilo in this match. The Chilean came to win, played quite fast and flat, constantly putting pressure on Novak. Djokovic`s decision to play in Monte Carlo seemed strange, considering the fact that he played a tough tournament in Miami. Immediately transitioning from hard court to clay is quite difficult. You can`t fool the body,” Tursunov said in a video for his Telegram channel.

Novak Djokovic on his defeat to Tabilo: I have an explanation and I don`t have one. I don`t know.
