Daniil Medvedev on “AO 24” Camera Message: Expect Long Matches Like in Australia

World No. 11 Daniil Medvedev commented on his camera message after his victory over Alexander Muller in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters, where he wrote “AO 24”. The match concluded with a score of 7-6(6), 5-7, 6-2.

When questioned about the meaning of `AO 24`, Medvedev responded:

“- It means that at this tournament all my matches will be three hours long and as lengthy as they were in Australia. You can`t play five hours and five sets here. So, it seems all matches will be three hours.”

Regarding his next opponent, De Minaur, and their previous clay court match where Medvedev lost, he was asked what adjustments he needs to make and if this upcoming game could be a turning point for defeating a top player.

Medvedev remarked: “- Khachanov and Muller are also decent tennis players on clay. If you ask De Minaur, I think he doesn`t like playing on clay, so it depends on your perspective.”

He continued, “Yes, we had a very tough match at Roland Garros, but I believe I performed well then, although I suffered a defeat. Indeed, he can play very well on clay, just like me. It will be a tough match, but I will try to play better,” – Medvedev is quoted by `Championship`.
