World No. 15 tennis player, Danielle Collins, became a hero off the court by rescuing a dog that had been hit by a car. The American athlete shared this heartwarming story following her victory against Rebeka Masarova in the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.
“One evening, as we were leaving the stadium, we noticed a dog curled up in the middle of the road. It had been struck by a vehicle. I knew we had to stop, and we took him with us. He has been in the clinic for two days now, and we are hoping to adopt him. He is currently in critical condition,” Collins explained.
She added, “If anyone could send prayers for my new pet… His name is Crush, because he was hit by a car. Please, everyone, send good energy to my little guy. It would mean the world.” This touching appeal was made by Collins during her on-court interview.
