Conchita Martinez, coach of world No. 7 Russian tennis star Mirra Andreeva, has shared her thoughts on the 17-year-old`s preparation for the clay court season.
“Mirra is a natural on clay; she moves incredibly well on this surface. The adaptation will mainly be psychological. Rallies will be longer, but the essence of her game shouldn`t drastically change. I still want her to maintain her aggressive style.”
“We are working extensively on adding variety to her game, giving her the option to hit with more height when needed, but always with aggression. Whenever she has the opportunity to step into the court, she needs to seize it, whether on clay or hard courts,” Martinez stated in an interview with Tennis Channel.
