Simone Vagnozzi, coach of the world number one and three-time Grand Slam champion, Italian Jannik Sinner, stated that he does not understand the opinions of experts who suggest that a three-month suspension could ultimately become an advantage for his charge.
“I was surprised to read some statements, even from experts, about the possibility that a three-month suspension could ultimately become an advantage for Jannik… let`s not kid ourselves,” Vagnozzi said. “If that were the case, why wouldn`t anyone have thought of stopping during all this time?”
Jannik Sinner is scheduled to play his first match after the suspension on Saturday, May 10th, in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, Italy.
